Which Caisson Shaving Soap Scent Should You Choose?

By Caisson Shaving Co.

Caisson Fire For Effect 4 oz shaving soap tin.

Shaving sucks. Picking a soap shouldn't. Caisson has five options, from sandalwood and patchouli to unscented. Here's the quick way to find yours.

Pick your starting point

  • Woody and earthy: Bohica Blend.
  • Tobacco leaf, coffee, and a hint of vanilla: Fire For Effect.
  • Citrus, eucalyptus, and cedarwood: Code Four.
  • Fruit and flowers: Pink Mist.
  • Unscented: Sniper Scent.

Bohica Blend

Bohica Blend is the sandalwood-and-patchouli option: woody, earthy, and an easy place to start if those are your usual favorites. Choosing between this and Code Four? Go Bohica when you want sandalwood and patchouli rather than citrus and eucalyptus.

Fire For Effect

Fire For Effect combines tobacco leaf and coffee with a hint of vanilla. Think First Sergeant's office, with a little vanilla thrown in. If that sounds like your kind of morning, this is your tin.

Code Four

Code Four puts citrus and eucalyptus alongside cedarwood. It's the citrus choice in the lineup, with cedarwood in the mix for anyone who doesn't want to leave the woody notes behind. Start here when citrus catches your eye before sandalwood, tobacco, or rose.

Pink Mist

Pink Mist brings hibiscus and rose together with pomegranate and raspberry. This is the fruity, floral choice. If you're deciding between Pink Mist and Code Four, the useful split is berries and flowers versus citrus, eucalyptus, and cedarwood.

Sniper Scent

Sniper Scent is unscented. Because snipers. Choose this one when you want the soap without a scented profile to pick through. It's also the straightforward choice when you already know you prefer an unscented shave.

Still stuck between two?

Pick the one with a favorite note, or cross off the one with a note you dislike. Buying a gift? Ask “woody, citrus, coffee and tobacco, fruity and floral, or unscented?” You'll get a better answer than “anything is fine.”

All five soaps come in 4 oz tins and are made in the USA. Choose yours from the soap collection. Need a brush too? Check the first-kit guide. Already equipped? Get your lather sorted and carry on.
